In the hills of Samaipata — a name meaning "rest in the heights" in Quechua — sits Khandro Gompa, a center dedicated to Tibetan Buddhism in the heart of Bolivia. Ten kilometers above the town of Samaipata, on eleven hectares where the Andean valleys meet the Amazon basin, the center offers teachings, retreat space, and a living tradition of Tibetan astrology and medicine.
