Peace Stupa — La Paz

In the Alcamari district of La Paz stands a Peace Stupa that has anchored the Buddhist presence in Bolivia since 2010. Built on a 4 × 4 meter stone base with a small gompa within, the stupa rises seven meters above the altiplano.
Nikolai Leonov coordinated its construction, which began in 2008. The stupa was consecrated in 2010 by Lama Rangrig Rinpoche. It was the first of its kind in Bolivia — a public monument to the practice of peace, accessible to all who approach it.
